During YU MEI KWAN's 71-years-old birthday, YANG NING KUNG gave her a 'Dragon Head Stick' and encouraged her to practise the 'Yang's Family Stick Stance. Her sons and daughters-in-law congratulated on KWAN's birthday. Meanwhile, the YANG's four men were summoned to help the villagers. They by chance knew that the bandit, TSANG GUN HUAN, had hidden himself in the pigsty. In order to keep the secret, HUAN killed them. The celebration then became a funeral. For the next three years, the YANG's women lead by KWAN are obliged to live in honest poverty. They are in mourning. They live independently and isolate themselves in the ancestral home. YING is the only one who does all housework. Others like Mui only know how to enjoy life. Thus, YING is respected by the whole family. LING tidies her old photo albums. The photo excites her feeling.
